Lady Graduated At UNILORIN With 5.0 GPA After Scoring 1.3 GPA in Her First Semester

A Nigerian young lady, Ebiomofari Omowumi Janet, who just graduated from the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), shared her transformational result on Twitter (X) that she “MOVED FROM 1.3 GPA TO 5.0 GPA AND STILL GRADUATED WITH FIRST-CLASS HONORS”.

In a remarkable and inspiring story, Ebiomofari Omowumi Janet shares her personal academic journey, revealing how she transformed her grades and mindset to graduate with First-Class Honors despite starting with a GPA of just 1.3. Her story is a testament to resilience, faith, and hard work.

Ebiomofari’s academic journey began far from the typical path of a straight-A student. Early in her university experience at the University of Ilorin, she faced significant challenges. In her first semester of 100 level, she earned two F’s, though one was later upgraded to a C, slightly improving her GPA from 1.3 to 1.59. However, this was still a sobering result that left her grappling with failure.

“I wasn’t a poor student, yet I failed miserably,” Ebiomofari candidly admits, noting that failure is not limited to certain individuals, just as success and excellence are accessible to everyone.

Her struggles weren’t just academic. During her 100-level days, she faced failure across all aspects of her life—financially, health-wise, and academically. The 1.3 GPA was a wake-up call. It thrust her into a period of deep reflection, where fear and depression crept in. She began to feel trapped in a shell of inferiority.

Despite this rocky start, Omowumi made a decision that would change everything. She set her sights on academic excellence and worked towards achieving it. By her 300-level first semester, her efforts paid off, and she achieved a remarkable 5.0 GPA, earning straight A’s. This monumental achievement was a source of immense joy and pride.

She credits her turnaround to a combination of consistent hard work, discipline, determination, and, most importantly, her faith. “It was all God’s doing,” she says, acknowledging the crucial role that her spiritual journey and reliance on scripture played in her success.

Ebiomofari’s story powerfully reminds us that even the most challenging setbacks can be overcome. Her message is clear: “If I can move from a 1.3 GPA to a 5.0 GPA, you can achieve even more. It’s a reality, and it’s possible. Give it a try.”

Her story is one of hope, perseverance, and the belief that no matter how bleak a situation may seem, success is always within reach with the right mindset and effort.

She further stated that she would be willing to share the practical experience and also on how to achieve academic success and game it right. She shared this in her thread on Twitter (X)
