ASUU suspends eight months strike

Thee Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has suspended its eight month strike.

The decision was taken by members of its National Executive Council after a leghty six hour meeting which began on Thursday night.

Speaking to Punch Correspondence after the meeting, a member who requested anonymity said the outcome was positive and the final decision was adoption based on how the branches voted. He also hinted that students have waited long enough and can return to class once again.

When ASUU president Prof. Emmanuel Oedeke was reached, he only briefed that “We (ASUU) will release an official memo today (Friday)” and also adding that the ‘result is is not a bad one’
