JAMB Announces Cut off Marks for 2023 Admission. Read the details to the end to see the cut off mark

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the cut off marks for the 2023 admission for Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education across Nigeria.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and tertiary education stakeholders have approved “the National Minimum Tolerable UTME Score (NTMUS),” otherwise known as the cut-off mark for 2023 admission into the nation’s universities.

The minimum cut off mark are as stated below:

  • Universities cut off mark is 140, while
  • Polytechnics and Colleges of education minimum cut off mark is 100

The benchmarks of 140 for universities and 100 for polytechnics and colleges of education were arrived at during the 2023 annual policy meeting on admissions into tertiary institutions, which was held in Abuja on Saturday June 24, 2023.

JAMB Registrar, Is-haq Oloyede, said the minimum benchmark is not a single-suit-fits-all for all institutions, noting that though the meeting decides the minimum point, “institutions have the liberty to raise their individual minimum points higher than the agreed benchmark.”

“Anything we decide here will become the minimum. What it means is that nobody can go below it,” Mr Oloyede said.

The implication is that NO INSTITUTION is allowed to go below the cut off mark set, including Federal Government, State government and private owned institutions in Nigeria.

KINDLY NOTE THAT, EACH SCHOOL WILL ANNOUNCE THEIR OWN CUT OFF MARK WHENEVER THEY ANNOUNCE THE SALES OF POST UTME / SCREENING ADMISSION FORM. NO PARTICULAR DATE FOR ANY SCHOOL YET
