Breaking News: JAMB To Start 2025 UTME Registration By January. Read full details below
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) said registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will commence in January on a yet-to-be-announced date.
JAMB, via its weekly newsletter on Monday, said it has successfully generated a satisfactory pool of examination items, completed the accreditation of Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres, and set the registration date to commence in January.
The board stated that it is expecting massive registrations this year and promised that all necessary plans to ensure a seamless registration and examination experience for candidates have been concluded.
It also said it would conduct the most exceptional UTME examination in its history, having implemented comprehensive measures to provide candidates and stakeholders with an unparalleled registration and examination experience.
JAMB added that insights gained from the 2024 review had been integrated into the rigorous planning for the 2025 UTME, stressing that it has also established robust measures to prevent a recurrence of the few challenges faced in 2024.
But to guarantee improved experience for candidates, JAMB advised early preparations, including the creation of profiles, saying “Candidates are required to send a text message: NIN (space) followed by their 11-digit NIN number to 55019 to facilitate the process and avoid delays.”
“And to ensure a smooth registration process for prospective candidates, “The application of henna on the fingers can lead to significant challenges during biometric verification, as it obstructs the process. Additionally, candidates who attempt to remove henna designs using harsh chemicals may inadvertently damage the whorls on their fingers, making biometric verification and authentication extremely difficult, if not impossible,” the board warned.
JAMB further advised candidates to protect all their ten fingers for both the registration and the examination itself. Successful biometric verification is mandatory for entry into the examination hall, and without it, candidates would be unable to access the examination questions.
